VESTAL (WBNG) — KW Fitness hosted its monthly charity workout Saturday focusing this month’s efforts on our local veterans.

This month’s workout consisted of 90-second rounds of as many push-ups as athletes could complete with a goal of 15,000 total. Their final total was nearly 16,000.

On top of the push-ups, the event aimed to raise $15,000 for the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group.

Owner of KW Fitness Kevin Webb says, “they give their lives on duty, the least we can do is give back to them.”

Attending the event, army veteran Shane Armstrong says, “the fact that we have a support group here locally that provides resources to people like that, is amazing.”

In awe of the number of participants in Saturday’s workout, she adds, “I feel overwhelmed with joy and I’m very, very grateful that this community supports veterans the way that they do.”

KW Fitness hosts different charity workouts each month, for a complete schedule, visit their website here.
