UPDATE: Family displaced in Conklin house fire

11 P.M. UPDATE

CONKLIN (WBNG) — A Conklin home has been ruled a total loss leaving a family displaced Saturday night, according to Conklin fire officials.

Authorities say the fire broke out at 7:53 p.m. at a home on Stillwater Road.

Officials say the family was able to make it out of the home before authorities arrived on scene. No injuries were reported.

According to Conklin Fire First Assistant Chief Tracy Blazicek, they believe the fire started in the rear of the home, but the cause is still under investigation.

Nearly 10 departments responded to the scene. As of 10 p.m. crews remained at the scene.

CONKLIN (WBNG) — Crews are on the scene of a house fire on Stillwater Road in Conklin.

Broome County Dispatch says the call came in just before 8 p.m. Saturday.

A 12 News crew at the scene say as of 8:50 p.m. firefighters were continuing to battle a house fire at 84 Stillwater Rd.

Conklin Volunteer Fire Department, Broome County Sheriff’s, Kirkwood Fire Company and Harpursville Fire Deapartment are all on scene.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
