BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Employees from the Johnson City Home Depot are showing how much they care by giving back to the community.
Joined by landscapers from Tioga Gardens, they stopped by Seton Catholic Central Wednesday afternoon to improve and beautify the entrance to the school. The goal is to give the students a welcoming entrance to the school, day in and day out.
The employees did this at no charge and on their own free time, something the school says it is entirely grateful for.
“It’s very hot out here today, and they’re out here working when it’s hot. Doing something, volunteering their time. It really is special. It’s a special thing they’re doing for us,” said Catholic Schools of Broome County President Elizabeth Carter.
The volunteers mentioned they were simply just happy they help. The cost of materials and labor was said to be worth more than $5,000.
