CHENANGO BRIDGE (WBNG) — Each fifth-grade class at Chenango Bridge Elementary got to hear the sounds of musical instruments from more than ten different countries on Monday.
Jamie Hogetsu Orfanella, a music instructor from Pennsylvania, demonstrated more than a dozen instruments from all over the world.
He expressed how important it is to see things from a culture you might not be familiar with.
“There is a lot more out there and I think it really gives you a different view of the world when you can actually bring this stuff in,” Orfanella said.
Instruments shown to the students included a traditional flute from Japan, flutes from China and India, and of course, a didgeridoo from Australia.
