TOWN OF UNION (WBNG) — So far this week we’ve shown you exciting places bustling with activity, crowded with families enjoying all sorts of summer activities, but what if you are looking for a quiet place to get away and enjoy the sights and sounds that nature has to offer?
We know of a place where all you can hear are the birds chirping and cicadas mixing with the sounds of blowing leaves.
“You can just sort of walk at your own pace wherever you want there’s lots of different trails in here. It’s a nice place,” said hiker Jeff Smith.
The IBM Glen Trail in the town of Union was originally part of the IBM Country Club before being designated a nature preserve in 2004. Today, with it’s trickling waterfalls and various species of plants and trees, it remains a relaxing place to enjoy a walk, and even take some pictures.
“It’s a nice walk just to be out in nature but there’s also a lot of butterflies and different species, lots of stuff to take pictures of,” Smith said.
