Binghamton Police: Juvenile being treated after stabbed by brother

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — One young person is in custody after police say he stabbed his brother Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the area of 251 Front Street around 2 p.m. Friday for a report that a juvenile had been stabbed.

Binghamton Police Detective Captain John Ryan says the stabbing occurred during a fight between two juvenile brothers.

Captain Ryan adds that one of the brothers was stabbed in the forearm by the other. Ryan notes that the victim’s wounds are non-life threatening in nature.

The brother accused in the stabbing was caught by officers after a brief foot chase on Winding Way, not far from the scene, detectives say. He is currently in police custody.
