ENDICOTT (WBNG) – With thousands of people expected to flood Endicott this week for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, finding a good place to park might become a bit of a hassle.

Tournament officials say this year they are working to make sure there are plenty of options.

“I feel like as the tournament grows, the community knows parking will be an issue and they accommodate it,” said Kyle Sevey from Endicott.

This year, public parking and handicap parking is available at Glendale Technology Park with shuttles to take you to the course.

On Friday only, parking is available at Grippen Park for those who purchase advanced tickets with shuttles to transport golf fans throughout the morning.

A public lot and volunteer parking is also available within walking distance on Dickson Street.

Drivers also have the option of parking their cars at CFJ Elementary School.

Tournament director, John Karedes, says there is a new drop off location if golf fans decide to use ride sharing services.

“This year is anyone utilizing a rideshare, Uber, Lyft, you know parking and pick up, drop off and pick up this year will be on Swartwood Avenue here in Endicott right adjacent to Enjoie Golf Course,” said Karedes. “What we are suggesting is avoid Main Street. That they actually utilize Vestal Ave to get on East Edwards, Mersereau Ave and come to the golf course the back way. That way it gets them right to the Uber and Lyft drop off. That way they have easy in, easy out.”

Golf fans say as chaotic as traffic can be for the tournament, there is plenty of room for everyone to join the fun.

“I feel like there is always parking. We never have issues with parking,” said Megan Sevey from Endicott.

Those attending will have to pay for parking in all of the lots mentioned.

Parking at Glendale Technology Park and Dickson Street will be $25 on Friday and $5 on Saturday and Sunday.

Prices for all other parking lots will vary throughout the weekend.
