(WBNG) — The New York State Department of Health has issued a statewide health advisory to health care providers following reports of cases of pulmonary disease in people using vaping products.
The department of health is urging people who use vaping products to cease the use of them immediately and consult their health care provider if they are experiencing respiratory problems.
As of August 16, the state department says it is investigating 11 reported cases. Officials say the investigation covers cases reported in western New York to the capital region.
The department notes that “many cases” reported the products containing cannabis or nicotine in the months prior to the investigation.
