Hancock Fire Department receives multiple grants, plans to update their equipment

TOWN OF HANCOCK (WBNG) — The Hancock Fire Department has received multiple grants which will be used to replace their old and outdated equipment.

The grants, which total over $98,000, will be used to help protect the public and firefighters, the fire department says.

This includes new equipment, rescue and forestry personal protective gear, and other personal protective gear.

The Hancock Fire Department would like to thank the George A Margaret Mee Charitable Foundation, Millennium Pipeline, and the New York State Department of Conservation.

Individual contributions include:

  • $68,814 from the George A. Margaret Mee Charitable Foundation
  • $28,125 from the Millennium Pipeline
  • $1,500 from the DEC
