9/11 Ceremonies held around Southern Tier

(WBNG) — Places around the Southern Tier are remembering 9/11 and the tragic day that happened 18 years ago Wednesday.

Here’s a list of some of the places you can go to remember the day:

The United Way of Broome County: It will be holding two events their location on 101 Jensen Road in Vestal. The first at 8 a.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m. Both will include a color ceremony by veterans.

Hickories Park in Owego: Emergency services in Tioga County will be meeting at the Owego 9/11 Memorial in the park at exactly 8:46 a.m.

SUNY Broome: A remembrance ceremony will be happening on campus starting at 10 a.m. It will be at the flag pole in front of the Darwin R. Wales Center.

Highland Park in Endwell: A candlelight ceremony will be starting at 6:30 p.m. This will be in the lower park, off Alexander Street, near the Remembrance Garden. The entrance at Alexander Street will be closed.

Village of Deposit: Firefighters and local officials will be erecting a permanent 9/11 Memorial at 6:30 p.m. It will be happening at the Memorial Park on Front street.
