Syracuse police ask public for assistance in cases involving deceased dog, tortured kitten

SYRACUSE (WTVH/WBNG) — The Syracuse Police Department is asking the public for help identifying the suspects involved in two animal abuse cases.

Police say a dog was left to die and a kitten “appeared to be tortured.”

According to authorities, a dog was found emaciated and left to die near Highland Park on July 7.  Police noted that the dog died, despite being treated by medical professionals.

The department also says a kitten was found on the 100 block of Schneider Street a few weeks later and appeared to be tortured.  The two cases are unrelated, they say.

Cue Pit Crew & Animal Alliance have offered a $1,000 reward for information on the abusers involved in the case of the cat.  It has also offered a $1,500 reward for information on the case of the dog.
