BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – In Memory of Diesel, Inc. (IMOD), was founded back in 2014, after Rolette Warren and her family lost their dog, Diesel, when they could no longer afford medical expenses.

Now after five years, Diesel’s memory is living on, and now IMOD is starting to give back.

The non-profit organization has tabled at events lately, spreading the message of their organization, and dishing out pounds of dog food.

“It actually felt good to give back to the community, because that’s what we’re all about: is to help those that usually get turned away from others,” co-founder Rolette Warren said. “To me it’s very important, we want to help not only the community, but other organizations.”

IMOD was present at Hickories Park in Owego over the weekend for Sarah’s Cause for Paws, and set up shop outside Tractor Supply Company on Upper Front Street.

Between the two, an estimated 47-and-a-half lbs. of dog food, as well as six ounces of dog treats, were distributed to the community, creating an impact so deep that Tractor Supply now looking to keep them around.

“They are actually willing to help us do a monthly distribution there,” Warren said. “Even through winter they are willing to help us out to give back to the community. They’ve given IMOD a lot.”

As the donations pour in, the memory of Diesel and the efforts of IMOD are filling the hearts of Warren, her family, and IMOD’s volunteers.

“Diesel was a husky that protected and he also helped other people too,” Warren said. “There’s only one mission in mind and that’s with the pet community. We want to aim for those rescues or shelters or others who are trying to help.”

IMOD is actively looking for donations and volunteers. To reach out, you can contact Warren and others involved at their Facebook page here.
