BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – Songs were sang, poems were read and information was spread about breast cancer awareness on Saturday at the Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors, caregivers, friends, family and more came out to talk about the importance of getting tested, and the need-to-know information.

Event coordinator Sandra Love as had her own battle with breast cancer, but was happy more women had a platform to speak about what they went through.

“It was amazing,” Love said. “I have my own story, but that’s one of the parts of this program: that others can share their story.”

Informational pamphlets and food was provided to all attendees.
