Syracuse Football moves up nine spots in the AP Poll

SYRACUSE (WBNG) – Syracuse football continued to move up in the polls after the Orange took care of business Saturday against Wake Forest.

The Orange moved up nine spots to No. 13 in this weeks Associated Press Top 25 poll. The last time Syracuse was ranked this high was Oct. 1, 1998, when SU was ranked No. 11. That season the Orange won the Big East and went to the Orange bowl. Donovan Mcnabb was the quarterback that season.

No team in the country made a bigger leap this week than Syracuse. The football team is now ranked higher than the basketball team which sits at No.16 before it begins the season on Tuesday night.The Orange take on Louisville Friday night at the Carrier Dome.
