BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — New York Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen said he expects Tim Tebow to open the 2019 season at Triple-A Syracuse, the New York Mets new Triple-A affiliate, the Syracuse Mets.
Tebow was enjoying a breakout season in Binghamton before breaking his hamate bone. The former NFL quarterback hit .273 in 84 games and earned a trip to the Eastern League All-Star Game. Van Wagenen left the door open for Tebow to make the opening day roster fr the New York Mets if he impresses management during spring training.
The once Rumble Pony seems to have played his final game in Binghamton.
