GLENS FALLS (WBNG) -The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats ended the volleyball season on top for the second straight season knocking off Panama, 3-0 in the state title game. In Class B, Owego was looking for its fourth title in the last six years but fell to Westhills, 3-1 to drop the championship match.

Class D Volleyball State finals:

Final score: Bainbridge-Guilford – 3, Panama – 0

Bainbridge-Guilford head coach, Tami Selfridge, on her team’s ability to fight the pressure:

“I am so happy for the girls that they could get a second championship,” said Bainbridge-Guilford head coach Tami Selfridge. “Not always does the best team win so we were a little nervous for today, we felt a lot of pressure this whole postseason play. It felt like back to backs was going to be a tough accomplishment we had a big bulls eye on our back.”

Bainbridge Guilford senior, Abigail Selfridge, on graduating with two straight state titles:

“It feels twice as good,” said Bainbridge Guilford senior Abigail Selfridge. “It feels amazing and I am so proud of my team we worked really hard to get here. It is incredible that we could come back this year, overcome the diversity of the season, overcome a couple of injuries to make it here, it is amazing.”

Class B Volleyball State finals:

Final score: Owego – 1, Westhill – 3
