BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — It was a stacked night of Section IV boy’s basketball around the Southern Tier on Monday. In a rematch of last year’s Class A Section IV Championship between Maine-Endwell and Johnson City, the Spartans pulled away in the fourth quarter for the victory. In Endicott, Nick Van Fossen hit the game-winning three-pointer for Union-Endicott against rival Vestal and Binghamton fell to one of its rivals Elmira. Check out all the highlights!

Final scores: No. 22 Maine-Endwell – 76, Johnson City – 68

The Spartans improve to 7-2 and 5-0 in STAC play.

Maine-Endwell’s Jack McFadden on the victory:

“I told them to take deep breathes and stay composed no matter how much pressure they had up top,” said Maine-Endwell sophomore guard Jack McFadden. “Just stay composed and stayed within ourselves and use the people around us as help to finish the game out, which we did.”

Union-Endicott – 52, Vestal – 51

Nick Van Fossen hit the game-winning three-pointer with 2.6 seconds left for the Tigers.
