VESTAL (WBNG) – On Monday, Kobe Bogart scored a game high 24 points to lead Owego to its 15th win of the season. In process he became Owego’s all-time three-point leader.
“As far as he wants to go and push himself the sky is the limit for that kid,” said Owego head coach Chris Evans.
“Shots will go in when shots will go in but my teammates get me involved and get me the ball when they need to and everything has worked out so far,” said Owego senior Kobe Bogart.
It’s been a milestone season for Bogart, getting to both 1000 career points and Owego’s three point leader in the same season but the senior cares more about the wins than the stats.
“He doesn’t care how he plays, obviously he wants to play well, everybody wants to play well but he is all about getting the wins and that says a lot about his character. He is a fun, loving kid all the teachers love him and nobody ever says a bad thing about Kobe Bogart,” said Evans.
“I think we can go as far as we want to go I feel like everyone on this team wants to go STAC finals, sectional finals, we want to get to that level,” said Bogart.
Owego is 15-2 on the season but that still isn’t good enough for Bogart.
“Obviously you want to be undefeated but the two losses we have were to good teams and I am looking forward to playing one of them again,” said Bogart.
The senior said this Owego team is just getting started.
“I mean these are my brothers, it has been what I dreamed it to be but we are not done yet,” said Bogart.
