BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — In the bottom of the 9th the Rumble Ponies scored two runs, capped off by a walk-off Michael Paez single, to knock off the Sea Wolves, 4-3. It was the fifth straight year the Ponies won the home opener.

Anthony Kay had another solid outing in his second start with Binghamton. The former first-round pick only pitched 3.2 innings because of his pitch count but still managed to strike out four, only allowing one hit. Zach Jones earned the win for the Rumble Ponies after putting up a zero in the ninth inning.

Binghamton went into the ninth down 3-2 but loaded the bases thanks to a pair of walks. After Dario Pizzano tied the game on an RBI groundout, Paez finished it with the walk off single over the shortstops head.

Final score: Binghamton (3-2) – 4, Erie (4-3) – 3

The Rumble Ponies (3-2) continue their first homestand of the season on Friday at 7:05 PM. RHP Chris Mazza takes the hill against RHP Spenser Watkins.
