BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – After spending more than seven seasons as the Rumble Ponies lead radio broadcaster, Tim Heiman has announced he is stepping down as the Ponies Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations.

Heiman, who studied engineering in college, has accepted a position in the Binghamton area with BAE systems and will continue to serve as play-by-play announcer for Binghamton University’s Division 1 sports programs.

Heiman was named the minor league broadcaster of the year after last season, and has left quite an impact on Rumbletown, but the support he’s received from his colleagues is endless.

“They knew, they know what goes into the job as broadcaster for a team and the media relations guy, traveling on the road, you’re not home very often, you’re at the ballpark all the time, and I think they just saw that there was an opportunity for me, where I could use my talents in another field, and they were more than supportive,” said Heiman.
