BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – For the first time in nine years the Binghamton baseball team is set to host the America East Tournament. Binghamton is the three seed in the tournament.

The last time the Bearcats were the three seed they won the tournament. Binghamton will send their ace, Ben Anderson to the mound in game one. Over the weekend Anderson eclipsed the 100 strikeout mark and is only the sixth America East pitcher to ever do so. The five before him all made the major leagues.

After a last place finish in 2018, Binghamton has rebounded nicely and finds themselves in good position to win the tournament.

“This is what we have been waiting for all year, especially with the chance to win the tournament in front of our home crowd, the fans and are family that come out all season long to support us it is definitely going to be an exciting moment,” said Binghamton pitcher Ben Anderson.

“Playing in front of our fans, our friends our family it is going to be awesome and we can’t wait for Wednesday,” said Binghamton second baseman Alex Barrata.

Game one against Hartford is set for Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is 2:30 p.m.
