Ben Anderson wins conference pitcher of the year

VESTAL (WBNG) – Tuesday night at the America East awards at the Event Center, the conference announced Binghamton pitcher, Ben Anderson as the pitcher of the year. Anderson has been the ace of the BU staff this year. He was 8-4 during the regular season with 104 strikeouts and A 2.96 ERA.

The junior is the 6th America East pitcher to ever eclipse 100 strikeouts and the five before him have all made it to the MLB. Anderson will be the Bearcats starter in game one of the America East Tournament Wednesday afternoon against Hartford.

Freshman Thomas Babalis was the unanimous rookie of the year voted upon by conference coaches. Anderson, Alex Barrata and Shane Marshall were named to the all-conference team.
