Legend of Evan Cormier grows with third straight victory for B-Devils

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The night of signing his first official AHL contract, Evan Cormier was back in net for the Binghamton Devils and recorded his third straight victory as he made 30 saves to lead the B-Devils past Lehigh Valley Friday night in Allentown, Pennsylvania, 2-1.

After a scoreless first period, Ryan Schmelzer and Nick Lappin both scored for Binghamton to give the B-Devils a 2-0 lead heading into the third period. Cormier allowed his first goal in five periods in the third, but Binghamton held on for the one-goal victory.

Final score: Binghamton (18-20-3-0) – 2, Lehigh Valley (20-13-1-2) – 1

Binghamton rides a three-game winning streak into the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena Saturday night when the B-Devils host Cleveland at 7:05 p.m.
