BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Kevin Boles is the newest member of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, becoming the 16th manager in franchise history. Tim Tebow is the biggest star to ever lace his cleats in Binghamton. It’s unlikely Tebow returns to Binghamton in 2019 to play for the Rumble Ponies again, but he is still in the New York Mets organization and Boles told 12 Sports, he has met the former Heisman trophy winner turned Eastern League All-Star.
“I’ve heard of him, yeah,” said Binghamton Rumble Ponies’ manager Kevin Boles. “Actually, I met Tim last year. He wouldn’t remember it, because obviously he probably meets a thousand people a day, but that’s okay. I met him at the cages over at spring training a couple years ago. He was with Tom Goodwin and he was getting some swings in the cage and terrific guy. He was outstanding and looking forward to spending a little time with him. He’s definitely an impressive figure. He’s done a lot and I’m definitely pulling for a guy like him.”
