Szmyt becomes first SU kicker to win Lou Groza Award

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Syracuse redshirt freshman Andre Szmyt became the first SU kicker to win the Lou Groza Award for the nation’s top placekicker on Thursday. The former walk-on leads the country with 28 field goals made and has converted all 57 of his point-after opportunities.

Szmyt is the third freshman to take home the Groza award.
