BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Tennis star Andy Murray is preparing to walk around from the sport. Friday, Murray announced his plans to retire due to a right hip injury in an emotional news conference, hoping to play at Wimbledon one more time.

“Just playing with no idea when the pain was going to stop and I felt like making that decision,” said Murray. “You know I said to my team, look I think I can kind of get through this to Wimbledon and that is where I’d like to, that’s where I would like to stop playing, but I’m also not certain I’m able to do that.”

Murray is a three-time grand slam winner and won the 2005 Binghamton Challenger.
