BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — “(It’s) not about learning, it’s more just playing games that matter past, games that you’re in it past May 7, which I’ve never done,” said New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. “So, that’s the biggest difference.”

May 7 is about thirty games into the Major League Baseball season. Teams play about 132 more. So, Stanton’s first season in New York was much more competitive than his years in Miami. In his first season in pinstripes, Stanton didn’t live up to his 2017 MVP season, but his numbers last year were right in line with his career averages. Stanton hit .266 with 38 home runs and 100 RBI in 2018.

Now as he begins year two in the Bronx, Stanton said he’s more comfortable in his new league and it’s all about getting back to the postseason.

“It’s definitely a pace,” said Stanton. “We know where we want to be and where we need to go. Start of day one, you have that in sight, and what’s the day-to-day we can accomplish to get there.”
