Rumble Ponies win fifth straight

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Rumble Ponies bats continue to explode, as they secured the series victory over the Akron RubberDucks with an 11-6 win Tuesday night.

The Rumble Ponies wasted no time, putting up four runs in the first inning highlighted by a Patrick Mazeika two-run double. After adding one run in the third on a Sam Haggerty triple, the Rumble Ponies came out strong in the fourth. Ali Sanchez opened the inning with a two-run double, as the Ponies posted six runs in the frame to make the score 11-1.

On the mound, Dave Peterson would earn his first Double-A victory, tossing 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs and striking out 8.

RubberDucks – 6 (7-11), Rumble Ponies, 11 (9-4)

The Rumble Pones have now won five straight games, and are 5-0 against Western Division teams.

The Ponies will look for their second straight series sweep Wednesday night, as they wrap up the series in Akron. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
