BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — A short night for Rumble Ponies pitcher David Peterson would result in a game one, 9-5 loss to the Akron RubberDucks.

The RubberDucks jumped on Peterson early, scoring seven runs across the first two innings. Akron’s Wilson Garcia led his team with five RBI, including a three-run home run in the second inning to end Peterson’s night.

Peterson (L, 1-2): 1.2 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 3 BB, 1 SO

The Rumble Ponies offense showed signs of life in the fourth inning. Barrett Barnes and Will Toffey each added two-run doubles to get out of the hole, but that was all the offense could muster.

Final score:

Rumble Ponies – 5 (10-8), RubberDucks – 5 (12-12)
