BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — For the first time since 2006, the Rumble Ponies pitched a combined no-hitter in a 7-0 win over the Harrisburg Senators.
Harol Gonzalez and Ryder Ryan combined for the no-hitter. Gonzalez anchored the night, pitching 6.2 innings and striking out six. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate, with two RBI. Ryan came in relief in the 8th, and pitched 2.1 perfect innings.
Gonzalez (W, 3-0): 6.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K
On the offensive end, run support was no issue. The Rumble Ponies opened scoring in the fourth after a Braxton Lee RBI single, and Gonzalez’ two-run single. The Ponies added three more runs in the 5th, highlighted by a Dario Pizzano two-run home run.
Senators – 0 (23-8), Rumble Ponies – 7 (18-10)
The Rumble Ponies will go for the series sweep Thursday night at 6:30 p.m., before returning home Friday.
