VESTAL (WBNG) — On day two of the America East Tournament, Binghamton cruised by No. 2 Albany, beating the Great Danes, 18-4.
The Bearcats jumped on the Great Danes early, but the third inning was when the game broke open. Up 3-0, Shane Marshall opened the frame with a two-run home run, followed by a Kevin Gsell RBI single. TJ Wegmann highlighted the inning by hitting a grand slam to make the score 10-0.
The offense continued to pile it on in the fifth inning, adding three more runs. Wegmann led the day with four RBI, while Nick Gallagher took care of business on the mound, allowing just one run on three hits, striking out four.
Binghamton – 18, Albany – 4
The Bearcats will now take on Stony Brook on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
