RICHMOND, VA (WBNG) — The All-Star Break has arrived for the Rumble Ponies. On Wednesday night, the best of the best from the Eastern League will be representing their teams in Richmond, VA.

“We’ve got some individual accomplishments here. It’s good that they got recognition, they’re rewarded,” said Ponies manager Kevin Boles.

Patrick Mazeika, Braxton Lee, Harol Gonzalez and Adonis Uceta earned the honor.

“Feel really blessed to say I was an All-Star,” said Lee.

“He feel really special to be part of the All-Star,” said translator Ender Chavez on behalf of Gonzalez.

“It’s great to be chosen to the All-Star team,” said Mazeika.

“He feel really good and thank God for opportunity,” said translator Ender Chavez on behalf of Uceta.

May brought Mazeika a fifteen-game hitting streak for the longest mark this season.

“I’ve had good stretches throughout my career,” said Mazeika. “I try not to get too high or too low with it. If you’re struggling, it’s not a big deal, if you’re hot, it’s also not a big deal. Just you know, keep swinging the bat, working every day”

Harol Gonzalez anchored the team to a combined no-hitter on May 8th, and has finally found the consistency he lacked last year.

“He was working with Hursty (Jonathan Hurst, pitching coach) so far this year, working hard at the gym, and that reflects to the game, so he just keep focused and keep working hard, and try to execute his pitches, and so far it’s good,” said Chavez on behalf of Gonzalez.

Then there’s Braxton Lee. He went through a stretch where he was tied for the highest batting average in the league.

“As long as I can keep up the good season,” said Lee. “I mean the All-Star team is a huge thing, but as long as we keep winning and do the things I have to do to be a good teammate the rest of the way, that’s what I’m the most excited about.”

Last but not least, Adonis Uceta. He’s been lights out from the bullpen.

“He gonna demonstrate it and be the best in the All-Star game,” said Chavez on behalf of Uceta.

All four have certainly earned the honor, and a piece of advice from their skipper?

It’s definitely not a break. I’ve managed in them, I’ve coached in them,” said Boles. “It’s great to get recognized, but also, they gotta make sure they keep their wits about them, because there’s a lot thrown at them in a short amount of time. So when they come back, we’re gonna give them a little bit of a rest.”

The All-Star game gets underway Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m.
