Former Binghamton Senator Hamel selected to AHL Hall of Fame

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Former Binghamton Senator Denis Hamel will be inducted into the American Hockey League’s Hall of Fame as part of the 2020 class.

Hamel spent six seasons playing with the BInghamton senators, from 2003-2010. His best season came in 2005-06 after recording 91 points. Hamel ranks 11th in AHL history with 338 goals.

During his time in Binghamton, Hamel was a three-time AHL all-star and served as captain four of his six seasons. Hamel was inducted into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014. He played in 192 NHL games between Buffalo, Ottawa, Atlanta, and Philadelphia recording 31 points.
