BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – Through 30 games this season, Jeff McNeil has been a revelation on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. The 26 year old from California has homered in three of his past four games, giving him a career-high nine home runs. A career-high set in the middle of the second month of the season.
Also on the back of McNeil’s baseball card this season, the second cycle in Binghamton baseball history. McNeil accomplished the feat on Sunday providing his family with a memorable holiday.
"That was awesome," said Rumble Ponies second baseman Jeff McNeil. "I knew after my first three at-bats, all I needed was a homer. Put a good swing on it my fourth at-bat, didn’t get it, and then put a great swing on it my fifth at-bat and right when I hit it, I knew it was out. So, that was pretty exciting, especially on Mother’s Day."
Binghamton starts a four-game series in New Hampshire against the first place Fisher Cats Thursday night at 6:35 p.m.
