Moving through the rest of the holiday weekend, we’re looking very good. The storms tonight will be along a cold front that will sag south and stall over Pennsylvania. While we could still see a stray shower, mainly south and east of Binghamton, the large majority of Sunday will be dry for everyone. Highs bump back up into the upper 70’s before northwest winds cool us off into the overnight. Memorial Day is looking absolutely beautiful, with high pressure settling overhead. Highs will be in the lower to middle 70’s under mostly sunny skies, perfect for cooking out and spending the holiday outside! Clouds do start to increase late in the day.
This increase in cloud cover signals a somewhat unsettled middle of the week. The next low pressure system starts to slide east on Tuesday, pushing its warm front into the Twin Tiers and sparking showers throughout the day. Wednesday we’ll be in between the warm and cold front, so isolated showers remain a possibility as highs jump into the 80’s. Thursday the cold front comes through, leading to more showers and some storms.
By late next week, we’re back under high pressure, meaning drier conditions both Friday and next Saturday with highs in the 70’s and lows in the upper 40’s to lower 50’s.
