A Frost Advisory is in effect from 2 to 10 AM Sunday for Broome, Tioga, Bradford (PA), and Susquehanna (PA) Counties)
Sunday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Winds: S 4-8 mph, High: 61 (58-64)
Sunday night: Partly cloudy skies. Winds: Light S, Low: 42 (40-45)
Columbus Day: Partly cloudy skies. High: 62, Low: 39
Heading into the next three days, quiet conditions will prevail with weak riding and high pressure centers. Sunday will see the most sunshine, with some high clouds filtering it at times through the afternoon. Monday a moisture-deprived cold front swings through, with a few more clouds but minimal changes overall. Tuesday, yes indeed you guessed it, more partly cloudy skies. Overall highs will be in the lower 60’s, with lows in the lower 40’s. On Wednesday, the next storm system approaches, with the center of this system tracking directly overhead. Confidence is beginning to increase that this day should be a soggy one, with cool temperatures and steady showers all day.
On the back side of this storm, a strong northwest flow sets up, with even colder air spilling across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Due to this strong flow, a few lake-enhanced showers are likely into Thursday, with highs barely scrapping into the 50’s. Conditions quickly warm back up Friday and next Saturday under a new high pressure center, though clouds won’t take long to return as the next storm starts to knock on the door for the end of next weekend.
